2008 in review...

2008 was an interesting year for the world with events that seemed to produce a roller coaster of emotions.

There were events that made us laugh

Events that made us cry

And Events that made us proud

I also had a few moments of my own that were extreme high notes in 2008.

My first trip to NYC!

My First YANKEES/RED SOX game!

My acceptance into the college of my choice!

I'll be quick and wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
May 2009 kick major ass for all.

Peace, love, sox

Boybands Found A Way Back To My Heart

Remember in this post, how I said it was the worst obsession in my life? Well, it's back and I think with a vengeance.
It all started when I agreed to go to the NKOTB [New Kids On The Block] with my aunt, thinking that she wanted to go. It turns out, she didn't want to go but thought my sister and I wanted to go. It was a funny day when we found this out. A moment straight out of a sitcom.
THEN, This song (One below) started playing on VH1 and I instantly loved it. I don't know what it was but I loved the song.

After the concert, which was surprisingly fun,I started youtubing[new word by me] their songs and liked them. Then, I started looking songs from *Nsync and Backstreet Boys. So, now I've been listening to them nonstop since then. It's been two weeks and I'm still listening to them.

Here's a favorite Backstreet Boys song of mine..."Show Me The Meaning of Bing Lonely"

It's HILARIOUS!!!!!!!

So, first week of senior year...

was NOTHING like I expected it would be. It just kind of felt like I was still a junior. That made me really frustrated and on top of the lackluster start to my last year in high school, I was horribly misled by my counselor. I thought I was going to be her office aid but, it turns out that the public service class at my school, which basically used to be like a teacher's aid thing, is now an actual class.

I JUST WANNA FEEL LIKE A SENIOR!

Recap over the past few days...

For so reason, whenever I was away from a computer great comments and thoughts ran through my mind that like a mile a minute and I felt that I should write them down. So now, I have like four sticky notes worth of random ideas. lol. So, please bear with me these are all my random comments and thoughts...
It all started on August 15th,
-SWIMMING
^ Exhilirating Phelps/Lochte match-up in 200m IM
^ Lochte victory over Peirsol in the 200m Backstroke

- GYMNASTICS individual all-around women's
*Liukin was amazing especially with her stuck landing
*Olympic scoring in gymnastics-> SEVERELY FLAWED! Especially in Balance Beam.
*Didn't stop the US girls though. Liukin got the GOLD and Johnson got the SILVER.

- SWIMMING Pt. II
^Is it just me, or did NBC have a little too much fun setting up the Crocker-Phelps match up in the 100m Butterfly? I mean I was watching the set up, and I got chills (I know, who gets chills from that? Well, to answer your question, I do. =]) It sounded like one of those epic movies. Add a catchy title, and you've got yourself a potential blockbuster.
^But, it was just as epic as they advertised. However, not with the who you think.
^->PHELPS GOLD #7-> Was amazing! So close of a race between Serbia's Cavic and Phelps that for a moment, I and probably the entire world, held our breath.

^DARA TORRES QUALIFIES AND WINS SILVER!!! WOOHOO!!
^GOLD #8----> 4x100m medley Relay was absolutely nerve wracking to watch. I was on the edge of my seat!
I WAS AROUND TO SEE OLYMPIC HISTORY HAPPEN!!!!!! YAY ME!

And The Pressure Mounts!

Hello all!
=D

[The Cube in Beijing,China]

Well, as many may know, since the Olympics started, I can't seem to stop watching. I guess you could say I've become an "Olympaholic". lol. And the event that I've found so exciting and nerve wracking to watch would have to be the Swimming. Every time I watch that event, it's like a guaranteed heart attack. Especially with the amount of expectations and excitement surrounding the sport because of what Michael Phelps is trying to do (the straight 8 gold medals) and the trash talking that the French were doing before the 4x100 m free relay. And now, the pressure is mounting on Phelps as he goes for his 6th gold tonight in the 200 IM. And perhaps, his biggest competition in this event would be fellow US Olympic Swimmer, Ryan Lochte. I'm rooting for both, but for the sake of the record breaking, I hope it's Phelps. Lochte will go up against Aaron Peirsol in an event before he goes for the gold against Phelps. The pressure is also mounting for the two US Olympic Gymnasts Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin as they compete for the gold in the all around tonight.

Hoping we bring home more gold tonight,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

8.12.2008

Another one!

Wow! Just wow!
This has been amazing!
Another World Record for America!
I mean, for anyone who saw that, don't you think it was unbelievable how they had to pan out the camera just to see the other countries' swimmers.
The story here besides the amazing world record is that this is gold medal number eleven in his career for Michael Phelps.
He's still got three more races to go if he wants to beat Mark Spitz' record of seven gold medals in one Olympic game.

I'm done for now, more will come soon,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

I just saw history in the making!

It was amazing!
I just saw Michael Phelps make Olympic history earning his tenth gold medal surpassing many historic Olympians including Mark Spitz. It was absolutely amazing!

More to come!

8.8.08

Friday night, the 2008 Olympics opened with a wonderfully amazing spectacle that ended with someone repelling off the walls of the stadium and lighting of that gigantic torch.
I wasn't really into the excitement of the Olympics until we swept women's saber or fencing. That's when I went into full blown Olympics mode. I think I've seen more olympic events in the past three days than I have seen in my entire life. I mean, I even watched a little of handball. HANDBALL! I didn't even know it was an actual Olympic sport until today.
The one event though, that made me almost as nervous/anxious and obnoxious [as my family would say. I have a tendency to get a little loud.=)] when I was watching it was the 4x100 meter freestyle relay. It was so close by the time Jason Lezak was on his last 50 meters, that I was holding my breath when both the US and France seemingly touched the wall. That was just an amazing win!

Even as I'm writing this, I'm watching mens field hockey, Great Britain v. Pakistan.

I'm sure I'll be writing more about the Olympics...maybe.

Now...

That I am out of my I-just-woke-up haze I have many more things to write about.
First things first,
BREAKING DAWN: I am close to finishing book two which was in Jacob's point of view, and I thought I wouldn't like it very much because I am not exactly a fan of Jacob. [Team Edward all the way!]But I really felt for him and I thought he was really funny. Especially with all the blonde jokes. lol
Second things second,
RED SOX: They've been doing well since they traded Manny Ramirez and acquired Jason Bay. I mean in the last few games (I'm thinking 6 games? I can't be sure) they've only lost once. But, only time will tell.
And finally,
GAVIN DEGRAW: I've been waiting for a very very long time for him to tour around South Florida but no luck. =[
I really REALLY wanna go see him live. REALLY.
I mean look at this --->

I wouldn't want to miss that.

I guess that's all,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

Fragile Future

I got the new Hawthorne Heights CD yesterday and haven't stopped playing it. I thought from listening to their new single "Rescue Me", they had gone softer in their sound. But, when I listened to it all, they were the same band they always have been with the exception, of course, of notable screaming. [not sure explaining myself well. word vomit= horrible]
My favorite songs have to be:
*Four Becomes One
*The Business of Paper Stars
*Come Back Home

Really out of it today,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

Stephanie Meyer is an evil genius!

Just kidding about the evil part. =]

But the genius part is completely true. I have been a huge fan of the Twilight series since the beginning of it all and I've loved every book. [Well, maybe I didn't like the second book at the beginning so much. lol] I'm only on book two of Breaking Dawn,so yeah, just to sing my praises.
=]

It's on until the "Breaking Dawn" [I know...LAME!]

Looking on the bright side

Okay, so I come bearing very good news!

The first piece of good news is the RED SOX WON 2-1 v. the Oakland A's. And I couldn't be happier! This makes my first impression of new acquisition Jason Bay so much more favorable. I've got a good feeling about the rest of the season.
=]

And the other piece of good news (Assuming, the rumors were true of course) is that there might be a possibility of a reconciliation between Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams. And I know for a fact I am not alone in this when I say "YAY!!!!". I loved them together and as much as what I am going to write sounds cheesy and like the very teenage girl that I am, They belong together!

The Best Years

Okay, so I was watching Eureka on Sci-Fi (by the way, everyone must watch this. It's awesome!) and I decided to look the show up on IMDB because a few of the actors looked familiar (IMDB is a great place to figure all this out =]) and somehow I came upon this show. It was on The-N last summer and I guess they canceled it. I looked for it on this place called the Click and found it and haven't stopped watching since.

Let me set this up for everyone so they could understand my strange, sudden obsession with this show.

" Samantha Best survived a series of foster homes to make it to college in Boston. Now she's on her own with a bottle blonde debutante roommate, Hollywood divas in her acting class, and guys in her shower. Samantha has no past, just one. big. future. Life starts NOW."

This was straight from The-N.com

This show is just a giant dramedy fest from the moment you see this first episode. I mean already within the first three episodes you see someone fall to their death, the main character hooks-up,breaks-up and kiss someone else and she turns purple. Then there is also the usual betrayal and backstabbing. The only issue I have, well, had really, was that the main character, Samantha (Sam) has like three guys (in the latter half of the show, turns to two)fawning over her.

Now, you can't tell me that this isn't a show you wouldn't watch. I mean, sure this is slightly over dramatic but I think it's definitely worth watching at least one episode.

They canceled this because it wasn't the direction they wanted to go in. I think they made a big mistake doing this. Now, I know I'm like what...a year too late to say this but hey! I said it.

Sooo Dramatically yours,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

My thoughts on the direction The-N is taking

I used to love changing to channel 143 and watching The-N because I knew it had the angsty teen dramas that I knew and obsessively watched. But now, I think it has turned away from their original target audience and just going along with the idea of superficial "reality" shows (I use the term reality VERY loosely of course) and well, Degrassi (which I think will NEVER die and I think that is quite unfortunate).
This is something I was thinking while randomly wandering around the-n's website. I was looking at their list of shows and I saw RFR (Radio Free Roscoe) and Instant Star and I was thinking "Damn! those were some of my favorite shows!". I'm Even talking about shows I may have discounted at first glance (like The Best Years). Then I would remember that they got canceled and get a little angry. I know that after a while things start to get ridiculous (like they do in Degrassi)but come on! We feed on the ridiculousness that is television.

I seemed to have run out of steam on my rant. So...

THEY MAKE AN AMAZING COMEBACK!!!

Yesterday's final game in the Red Sox/Yankees series in Boston and let me tell you....IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!

Although, nobody beaned A.Rod in the arm, they got back at those cocky Bronx Bombers by scoring run after run. I don't know what changed from that horrible game on Saturday to pull it together and make an awesome comeback.

I actually didn't watch until the 6th inning. I'm pretty superstitious and realized every game I watched, they would lose (including the one that I watched at Yankee Stadium).

Why be so ridiculously superstitious?
Well, think about it. This team is rich in superstition [The curse of the Bambino anyone? lol]

Anyways,
The Bronx bombers "bombed" 9-2.

Quick summary of Sox v. Yanks game today

The Red Sox lost. =[[[
It really sucks because I thought that Tim Wakefield would save us and to add insult to injury, the bullpen today was kind of disastrous.

Final score: 10-3

There were three points throughout the game though, I'd like point out as highlights.

#1- the first inning! We got like two runs right off the bat (no pun intended) and I really thought that we would come back from the loss (albeit, a small loss yesterday). Unfortunately,it didn't go that way.

#2- That home run in the 6th! That was amazing.

#3- A.Rod getting beaned in the arm. It was absolutely redemptive and made my entire day. =]]]]]]]]]]]]]

Much Red Sox love,

Listen to this!

When I went to Warped, I passed by the Fearless Records tent (You know, the record label that dropped Sugarcult) and I bought a Start Static CD for a complete Bargain ($5 to be exact) and they gave me a sampler with a few of their bands songs. And there was one band that particularly caught my attention because it was so different. The song was “Roll Right Over” by Eye Alaska. This song reminds me so much of early 90s R&B infused with John Mayer’s smooth vocals. I like it because it’s so different from what is out there in the “scene” right now.
Even though, I only heard one song from Eye Alaska, I think it's definitely worth listening to.

Until next time,

MY VERY FIRST WAPRED TOUR!!!!!!

I went to Warped Tour for the first time ever yesterday @ Bicentennial Park and the minute I got there I was totally overwhelmed. There were so many places to go, so many bands to see. It took me a while to actually see it all, but it was just completely awesome.

The first stage I went to was the Highway 1 stage when Relient K was playing. The first song I heard them play was "Be My Escape" and I thought they were awesome live. I didn't see the rest of the set because I wanted to walk around. By the way, I got some of the cheapest band merchandise ever. I mean, I got
Start Static for five dollars. I also stopped by the Invisible Children tent and bought one of the shirts that I saw at the I.C. screening at my school a few months but was too broke to buy back then. :D

Then, I passed by the Hurley.com tent and saw that Mayday Parade was signing @ 1 o'clock so my sister and I waited there until we got our turn to get our posters signed. I had no idea what to say so I told them that they kicked ass. I geeked out, but they seemed to be flattered by it. After my little geeky moment, we went to the Route 66 stage and waited for Gym Class Heroes to go on stage. But, in between all of the people there, somebody threw a shoe and a guy threatened the person that they were going to hunt them down. Unfortunately, I was next to the person and must've confused me and the person.

So, I thought it was best we left and headed towards the Jack's Mannequin Highway 1 stage. And I was so happy because I think that was the closest I've been to a stage ever. Anyways, I geeked out again when I saw Andrew McMahon on stage. It was an amazing set. He went crazy on the piano and it was just...wow! (And people tried crowd surfing to Jack's Mannequin. I didn't even know that it would fit with that music.)
After my sister got claustrophobic, we headed out of the crowd and took a break before we went to see Mayday Parade on the Hurley Stage. By the way, I could not find that freaking stage for the life of me. It took us forever to find it because we assumed there was only one Hurley Stage but we were so wrong. But that's besides the point. It had been cloudy and raining during the Jack's Mannequin set but it had stopped. Unfortunately, when we were waiting for Mayday Parade, it started raining again which was technically, a relief for my very badly burnt shoulders (forgot the sunscreen).

But, that did not stop us from watching them play. They started off with "Jamie All Over" their new single and then there was an attempt at moshing in the crowd but was stopped instantly. They were also awesome live! Eventually, the crowd surfing got to be too much so we left but not before rocking out to "Jersey", "Three Cheers For Five Years",and "Walk on Water or Drown".

In the end, it was an awesome first experience and I hope I get to go again next year.
:D

HAPPY FRIDAY!!! and now on to Instant Star...

WTH!!!!?!?!?!?

Instant Star ended tonight.

Was it good?
Ehh.
Was it a worthwhile watch?
HELL NO!

From the moment I discovered this was the last season, I had a bad feeling about how the whole season would play out. I mean the usual questions popped up… “Would they rush it?” “Would it be too much?” “Would it suck?” and about halfway through the “season”, if you could even call it that, I got all my answers. Yes, they did rush it. TREMENDOUSLY. I mean three episodes a week, with an extra episode at the “season” beginning. There were only 13 episodes to begin with. The entire damn season ended in the matter of a month. A MONTH!!! Seriously, that’s just sad. It made me really angry when they decided to do this. It was like they decided to just hurry up and get it out of the way.
Now, to answer the second question. Yes, it would be too much. It was all so much to put into 13 HALF HOUR episodes. Honestly, if they had, you know, spaced everything out a little better then maybe, MAYBE, it wouldn’t have partially destroyed my view of the ONLY show I watch on the-N. And, I might as well answer the final question. No, it didn’t suck…much. Now, this question was mildly hard to answer because I’ve watched this show from the beginning and I’ve grown fond of all the characters and the writing behind the character’s motivations. However, this final season, the writers did things that were very unlike characters.

Some of these changes were actually pleasant. Examples would be, the change in Tim Rozon’s character, Tommy and the more in depth role Tyler Kyte’s character, Spiederman, had in the season. But, the one change I could not tolerate at all was, Laura Vandervoort’s character, Sadie’s change. I’m not sure what it was , but I did not like it at all.

I seem to have run out of steam on this one so…

YAY!

YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!YAY!

I'm soooo HAPPY! :D :D:D:D:D:D
Why?
You may wonder.
Well, any Instant Star Fan would know after tonight's episode. It's JOMMY again!
A few episodes ago, Tommy was going through a typical leading man brooding-emo phase and completely rebuffed any attempts Jude was doing to try and help him through. And, of course, there was angst and tears and CRAZED STALKER FANS. I'm just glad that it got all fixed before the series finale tomorrow on The-N at eight o'clock PM.
I'm also happy that the evil whorish Blue (Degrassi's, Cassie Steele) is out of the picture and Jamie finally found a girl that could be compatible with him and appreciate him. :D
It's really unfortunate though, that Sadie and Kwest are over. I mean, they looked like a truly perfect pairing. But there is still tomorrow. :D

That's all,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

Long Time!

NO POST!

And again, Many many apologies. :D

Well I do have things to say that have been in my head.
As many may "tween" girls may know, Camp Rock premiered this weekend and somehow, I managed catch it. Very much another High School Musical mixed with summer camp. But, as much as I will not admit this in person, I thought it was okay.
Now onto more pleasant topics, My Boys last week was okay. It was actually kind of boring until the end when Elsa, Andy's new Nanny came into Crowley's with Bobby. It was all about blind dates this week and a dinner party which turned out to be a disaster. In the end, I felt so bad for P.J.

That's pretty much it,
Sorry for the short post.

6.15.2008

Hi!

Okay. Hi!
This post has been a long time coming. I’ve reserved opinions of certain shows that have come back (some for their last season *cough*instant star*cough*). So, I guess I’ll start off with Instant Star.

Their last season started last week and there are already 7 episodes. Wanna get rid of it much, The-N? But I don’t care. I am just so happy because she chose Tommy! (As many can probably tell, I’m a Jommy girl) It started off interestingly enough. I mean, Jamie leaves a previously crumbling G-Major to create *NBR. A previously crumbling G-Major up and running again, which I thought wouldn’t happen. Speid and Karma just in general and their reality show. Tommy and Jude actually lasting longer than an episode. However, I was too soon to judge.
Tommy+Jude+Tommy’s Hometown troubles=Break Up.
I mean, I was expecting one, but I didn’t quite expect the reaction afterwards.

Now That my little Instant Star rant is done, I’ll move on to My Boys.
Yes, that wonderful show on TBS. To be honest, with all the talk, or lack thereof, I doubted they would be coming back after the first half of the season. But, I’m happy it survived. And can you believe P.J. picked Bobby?! I mean, I know that they had a thing at the start of the series and when they went on that road trip but I didn’t know that she had any thing for him. But I thought this was a funny episode. I liked how the guys thought that Bobby was dead. I was laughing the whole time. Albeit, it was a little awkward at some parts.

That’s pretty much all,

P.S.

It's summer before senior year

IT'S NOT EVEN SENIOR YEAR YET....
and I'm already having one of my little panic-esque attacks. :D
I know this may sound really bad, but this is what I usually do. And I can't wait! Just looking at all the schools and imagining myself on their campuses make me so excited and happy. These are the moments I've been looking forward to since I was in the first grade!
I know that most of my friends are freaking out right about now about leaving their bubbles. But I've been waiting (rather impatiently) to be out there and see how it all goes. I was actually talking about this with my mom and she told me that that is how I was my first day of kindergarten. She told me that I couldn't wait to go in and I didn't even cry.
So, I'm looking forward to this summer and this year, because I feel like I'll get a chance to grow closer to my friends and spend as much time with them as possible before it's all over.
Wow!That was scary,

P.S.

"despite all my rage..."

"...I am still just ready to cage"
These Smashing Pumpkin lyrics have been stuck in my head all weekend long along with other songs by them due to a show on Fuse called "loaded". It's a show where they put an hour's worth of a certain bands music videos for the audiences pleasure. I sat there in front of my aunt's television for a whole hour and i realized something....

Now, this may be something that I only realize and I may be wrong but... I think Gerard Way has an uncanny resemblance to Billy Corgan. I think they look extremely alike as far as their facial features look. Examples of this uncanny resemblance would be in the music videos for "1979" and "Tonight, Tonight". But Hey! it could be just me.

Along with this stunning thought, I also got the chance to listen to a band called Flobots. When listening to their song "Handlebars", which by the way is completely addicting, their music video and the message they were sing/rapping/etc. about was somewhat reminiscent of Chronic Future's "Time and Time Again". Again, that could be just me.

(Well, I can't really post up "Handlebars" because it's embedding has been disabled)

Moving on....
The MTV Movie Awards were Sunday and the part I watched was fairly entertaining.
I watched the part when Tom Cruise was honoring Adam "The Sandman" Sandler with the MTV Generation award. "The Sandman's" form of an acceptance speech was so funny. I liked it.
Then my friend told me about the rest of the show yesterday and she told me Step Up 2 won Best Kiss (Which wasn't a very competitive category. I mean, Enchanted?) and she told me to watch this part of the award show online.
I thought that Rainn Wilson's bouquet offering to Megan Fox was priceless. And the Teddy Bear!lmao. :D

That's pretty much it for now.
My next post will be about Instant Star, I can say with 99.99999999% certainty.

Larry King=Awkward Interviewer

Well, at least from what I saw on Friday and this past Monday. As you can probably tell, I'm still riding on my "David Cook Won! Yay!" High and found out about the interviews. However, there were certain parts that looked painfully awkward to me. It could probably just be me but I don't know.
On Friday, I was half asleep because I caught it at like 11 at night and I had been awake since 5:30 that morning. But for the Monday one, I was more awake and I thought that was really funny. Larry King was asking questions that were sent in by fans and I thought some of the questions, well rather the answers were really funny.
For example, one question was whether Jason Castro was offended by the thought floating around that the reason he was so laid back was because he smoked weed. I couldn't help but laugh. I thought the question was funny and I didn't think that anybody would actually ask such a question.
That's it.

It's just a random moment. Sorry if it may seem really...out there.

Well, that's it for now. Sorry that there's no video or any other kind of thing today. Maybe next time.

And America's Idol is....

DAVID COOK!

Yup! He is now our American Idol and I can't help but be absolutely, positively happy! I mean I only had to watch nearly two hours of complete filler to get to THE moment. But, you know, it was absolutely, positively worth it. if I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have seen the HILARIOUS Guitar Hero Commercial. Or the amazing performances of the finalists with ZZ Top and One Republic. That was simply amazing.

And can you imagine my amazement when I hear Simon Cowell apologize for his comments to David Cook?! I was shocked to hear those words come out of his mouth. And I think that that was the point at which most people started taking the hint that maybe Cook had a chance of winning. However, I never doubted it. I mean, come on. He has talent and that DOES NOT MEAN I THINK ARCHULETA HAS NONE. It’s just that David Archuleta has more of a Broadway/Disney appeal. But I have no doubt that these two finalists will hit it big in any genre they decide to delve into.

And now, for your viewing pleasure the HILARIOUS Guitar Hero Commercial

Enjoy,

I NEED EVERYONE'S HELP!

As Many may know from my little tirade earlier this week, Moonlight has been canceled by the evil CBS and tonight is the final episode at 9 P.M. I've been looking around the internet (dejectedly) trying to find ways to help make CBS see how unintelligent their decision and I saw an idea online and thought that I should put this everywhere I have an area to write in online. Myspace, Blogger, Last.fm. EVERYWHERE!
The idea is tune in TONIGHT @ 9 PM ON CBS (most of the time, Channel 4) to WATCH MOONLIGHT. I'm telling this to everyone I know. There is strength in numbers and we need to show CBS that it was a bad decision to cancel this awesome show. TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW & DON'T KNOW!

Thanks,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

My Review of the Idols Results Show...

as it happens, too!

FANTASIA'S PERFORMANCE!
That was definitely...interesting. No other word could possibly explain it. And simply the look on Simon's face. It was just... 0_O. I couldn't help but laugh throughout the entire performance. lolz

THE RESULTS...
It's that moment now at 9:56 PM. And my stomach is literally in knots!
DAVID ARCHULETA & DAVID COOK ARE GOING TO THE FINALS!!!

9:57 PM
I am shocked! I mean I knew that it would be Syesha to go, but man! Still.

Well, that's it.

My weekly American Idol Report

Well, I'm calmer than I was in my post before. Anyways, this my American Idol critique/rant all based on a bias point of view. I only started listening when the second round of songs came around so here it goes:

David Archuleta-
"With You" Chris Brown Round 2
I couldn't stop laughing! I know it's mean to say but it is simply the truth. It just didn't suit him and I couldn't help but agree with Simon and Randy with their comments. Randy said that it's just not him and Simon made a funny comparison. He compared Archuleta singing this song to a "Chihuahua trying to be like a tiger". All true.
"Longer" Dan Fogelberg(sp?) Round 3
I have never really heard this song before so I can't really be an accurate judge of it, but I thought it was nicely sung. It suited him WAY more than his second song choice. I also agreed with the judges opinions on this one. Randy said it was a "Hot one", Paula said it was "a lovely performance" and Simon said that he "sang the song well".

Syesha Mercado-
"Fever" Peggy Lee Round 2
I absolutely love this song originally, so I was a bit skeptical about it. In the end though, I liked her variation on it. I agreed somewhat with what the judges said. Especially, about her needing to show that she is a contemporary artist and able to record contemporary kind of songs.
"Hit Me Up" Happy Feet Soundtrack Round 3
I never heard this song really before so I couldn't really judge this one either. But I thought it was good. She showed everyone that she sings contemporary music but the thing is, just like paula said, I'm not sure if that genre is for her.

David Cook-
"Dare You to Move" Switchfoot Round 2
I have heard of Switchfoot before (meant to live, Stars, and of course Dare You to Move just to name a few) and I love them. Now you know I'm being completely honest when I say this..."No matter how much I love him, I have to agree with all 3 of the judges. It was a bit lacking at the beginning and wasn't very, you know, complete."
And YES I said that.
"Don't Want to Miss a Thing" Aerosmith Round 3
It was definitely better than the second performance hands down. I was able to get into the song more this time around. YAY for him! It had a certain grandiose effect about 1 minute into the song. But it can never be as big and epic a song as "Always Be My Baby". But I still loved it. All three judges were spot on with their critiques. And the comment that made me completely squeal was Simon saying that "David Cook Wins the night". The entire crowd was up on their feet and everything.

Final Thoughts (How Jerry Springer of me, I know)

The Final Two Will be......
At first I thought that I would be wrong in assuming
David and David because Syesha looked like she might make it
but, at the end of the night,
David and David= Top Two

But then again, who knows, right? I guess we'll all figure out tomorrow night.

Until then,
GOOD NIGHT ALL

WARNING!WARNING! A Rant is contained in the following post!

I'm sorry. I just have to say this. Halfway through the original post I was gonna write (which was about Instant stars but that can wait), I came upon some really frustrating and angering news. Moonlight has been officially cancelled and I think that CBS has made a tremendously HUGE MISTAKE!

*Just a note, the rest of this post will be in caps!

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE DOING VERY WELL RATINGS WISE. I MEAN, IT'S ON FREAKING FRIDAY NIGHTS! YOU CAN'T EXPECT HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE TUNING IN. I MEAN PEOPLE HAVE THINGS CALLED LIVES!!!!!IT WAS GENUINELY GOOD WRITING AND I ADMIT SOMETIMES IT DID DRAG BUT WHAT SHOW DOESN'T? AND HOW THE HELL DO THESE PEOPLE BRING BACK A SHOW LIKE SURVIVOR AND NOT MOONLIGHT!!!!! I UNDERSTAND IT'S ALL ABOUT RATINGS BUT COME ON! THIS SHOW HAD QUITE A FOLLOWING AND SUCH A DEVOTED FANBASE THAT IT WAS TRULY SHOCKING. I'LL ADMIT IT, I FIRST STARTED WATCHING THIS SHOW BECAUSE IT WAS MY LAST LINK TO ANYONE THAT ONCE WAS ON VERONICA MARS (this was of course before Kristen Bell showed up on heroes) BUT I EVENTUALLY GOT INTO THE PLOT AND THE SHOWS' CHARACTERS SO MUCH, THAT I BECAME A FAITHFUL VIEWER. THIS JUST MAKES ME MAD THAT SHOWS THAT HAVE SUCH POTENTIAL AND ARE CULT FAVORITES GET CANCELED.

That's it for now, at least until I hear something else.
sadly/angrily/anxiously yours,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

I just watched...

What I think was one of THE BEST movies I have seen in quite sometime. As you can probably tell from the poster at the top of this post, it's called Wristcutters A love story. It stars Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous, Saved!) and Shannyn Sossamon (40 Days and 40 Nights) just to name a few, as people stuck in what is assumed to be some sort of hell for those people who had committed suicide.

I know, I know. It may sound somewhat...well, really depressing. But it is actually quite the opposite. There were a lot of funny parts and I thought it was just very nice all around. It was also very sweet because a romance actually does develop throughout the film. I just happened to find this film when I was randomly searching around places to look for different kinds of movies. I truly enjoyed it (which I know I have probably said a bunch of times, but it's only because it is absolutely true!) and I think everyone should go get it IMMEDIATELY!

well, that's all for today,

HAPPY MAY DAY!

Hello all!

I just want to wish everyone that celebrates it, a very happy May Day. ^.^
It's labor day everywhere else in the world except for the United States because we are just so special like that. (sarcasm)

One more thing. The Office is on tonight. I'm not sure if it's new or not...but I'm still gonna watch it.

My American Idol Report

I'm reporting on this week's two episodes of American Idol. I'm not sure exactly what it was, but I thought the performances (yes, even David Cook's performance) were slightly if not completely boring. Maybe it's because I only know 3 songs from Neil Diamond or there was some other factor present at the moment, but I just couldn't keep my attention to the performances. So, I can't really say much about them.
But I can talk about the results so far (as of 9:30 est).
Jason Castro- I was not that surprised to see him safe and make his way to the couches. I mean, I know his performances are less than stellar but if it were a bottom 3 instead of 2, he'd be there.
David Archuleta- I'm DEFINITELY NOT surprised that he made his way to those cheesy velvet couches. I mean, he's just oozing American Idol. He is young, moldable, marketable. Why shouldn't he win? He is just what a good little American Idol should be.
David Cook- I'm not really shocked at this one either. It has always been predicted that Archuleta, Cook and Smithson would make it to the top 3. But now that Smithson is gone (unfortunately), everything is up in the air. But whatever he does, he has actual talent and I think he'll make it. I(Don't believe me? just check out his album, Analog Heart)

Check it out!

Hey guys!
I've always wanted to write reviews and critiques about the concerts I go to and albums I buy. Well, I finally got my chance to do it. There is a new web zine called Addicted To Shows and I've recently began writing there as well. They cover everything: concerts, upcoming albums and it's not just one specific genre either. They are super cool and great writers so check them out! And there's still more to come! so tell everyone you know and help spread the word.

Thanks,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine :D

Woot! Woot! Moonlight is Back!

Finally! A new episode of Moonlight and I thought it was totally worth the wait. :DDDDDDDD
When the episode started, Mick is shown (all the goodness that can be seen on CBS at least) and he talked about how he hadn't been human in a long time and how it felt good. He does all the things humans do (including eating like a pig lol) and simply reveled in it all. Then, he meets Beth at the beach. (oh my god for all those fangirls, it was a total melting moment. (Mick+Shirtless= turning into a puddle on floor).

And of course, there was flirting going on between the two of them (But when is there not, right?) and then she started talking about how "there was always someone else" when she was with Josh and even if he proposed, she doesn't think she would've said yes.
Now, under any other circumstance, this would've been, I don't know, something that is kind of not nice to say. But due to the majority of the viewer's supporting the Mick-Beth "ship" (fan-speak for "relationship") it is but a glimmer of hope for all of us. And when they looked at each other on the beach, I was all like "awww".

But, Of course, like in every episode on every show in Television land history, something has to happen to interrupt the quiet calm and the happiness that the characters had and create the very drama all people in general crave when they watch television. In this case, it was the death of Beth's boss, Maureen, that sets off a bunch of horrible events including the kidnapping of Beth and the new D.A. Talbot (something tells me there'll be more of him but not in the way we like) by a vampire. Yes, to top it all off, a vampire. This is when it got gut wrenching for me. He had to choose between changing back to save the woman he loves (Yes! He said he loves her. Totally :DDDDD) or risking her life. The picture below should illustrate his choice.

I think that's all I'm gonna say about it so that I don't ruin it for anyone. So yeah...OH! but be aware, there is a really cute, awesome, passionate moment at the end. ^.^

Until I think of something else,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

My week in review

Hey!
Long time, no blog. Well, it's been an awesome week. School has been a breeze, David Cook is safe for another week (although after a disastrous performance, Brooke White is still there but that is for another time), and I got to go to the Honda Civic Tour on Wednesday night and had an absolute BLAST! Here is my concert in review:

OH AND THERE'S A NEW EPISODE OF MOONLIGHT TONIGHT! YAY!

This week's Greek in review

This week's Greek,in my opinion, was awesome. It gave the viewers a lot of insight into how everything ended up the way it is now between Cappie, Casey and Evan. It was the week of the all Greek ball and they were telling their respective houses about it. We learn that it had been two years since the last one and members of the houses wanted to know why. However, neither Rusty nor Rebecca (the ones who asked) would discover the answer except for Rusty. The audience gets taken back by several flashbacks of the first few weeks of College thanks to the memories of Cappie, Evan and Casey. All remembering how they met each other and how their situation came about. I'm not sure what I should say about that except for, Frannie is not as evil and manipulating as I thought originally. (I know, Shocking)She actually looked out for Casey when she just started out at Cyprus Rhodes. At the end, everything that took place at the ball that actually was happening in the present confused me. I usually have a good idea as to what might happen next, but now, I'm just plain confused.

I guess until next week then. CAN'T WAIT! :D

Rating for this week's episode:
★★★★★ :D

(just testing out some thing I found. No actual rating occurred)

And for anyone that watches American Idol, IT'S ON TONIGHT @ 8 o'clock.
Oh and I recently discovered came out with an album called Analog Heart. But the minute I find out about it, it gets pulled from Amazon.com. :(

That's all for now. Until next time,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

MOONLIGHT IS BACK!

Ok, so it may be a re-run. But it's back nonetheless. This is one of my absolute favorite shows (Up there with The Office and a cancelled favorite Veronica Mars). I'm a big fan of anything that involve vampires so, it would make sense that a show like Moonlight caught my eye. With a vampire P.I. that always seems to be in one of those brooding moods, and his heroic attempts at saving Beth, the mortal he met a crime scene at the beginning, how can you not like it. It has something for everyone. And it also doesn't hurt that the vampires, Mick and Josef (played by Alex O Loughlin and Jason Dohring [yes from Veronica Mars :DDDD] respectively) are tremendously HOT.
I just can't wait to see new episodes next week and from the looks of the promo (kindly supplied below thanks to CBS) it's gonna be good. :DDDD

Well That's All for now,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

Another week on American Idol.....

Another contestant kicked off the show. Unfortunately(or fortunately) Kristy Lee Cook was the one to go last night. And even though Kristy Lee has never been my favorite, I still think she did a good job on the song "Forever". But I guess it was just Kristy Lee's Turn... :D (all from a biased point of view...but really, who isn't?) Now that we got the "shock" or lack thereof of the elimination out of the way, I would like to talk about my favorite Idol, and personally, the one I think is gonna win...David Cook. That rendition of "Always be my baby" was absolutely amazing. This was very unexpected. I actually didn't think that a Mariah Carey song could be turned into that. But it was and I'm glad. I think it sounds good that way. :DDDDDDD

Well, that's all I have to say

oh! and I wish I could play piano like this guy.

Now, that's all I have to say. ^.^

I.C. 4-11-08

Invisible Children roadies came to my school and we screened the movie Friday night. And there was music, and a vigil at the end of the night. It was simply beautiful. It was so much fun too. We even got a few faculty members to learn the Acholi dance. That was so funny.

Broadway musicals and me

I've always been a HUGE fan of Broadway musicals. Unfortunately, I have never actually seen a musical ON Broadway. So, whenever any Broadway musical I like goes on a national tour, I jump at the chance to go and see it. Well, this past weekend, I went to see Wicked with a few people I know. I must say it was a lovely musical.
I was a little skeptical at first because I hadn't heard much about it. But, by the time intermission came, I was singing "Defying Gravity" over and over along with my sister. The talent of those people was amazing. The range each actor had was simply astounding.
In the end, I really enjoyed it. Although, the ending was slightly cheese-tastic as I like to say. But that's the way I like my endings as far as most musicals go. However, this can not explain my slight obsession with Spring Awakening. (An awesome musical...well, I've only heard the music. But I know it's awesome)
:DDDD

I'm in love

with Gavin Degraw's new song "I'm in love with a Girl". He has always been a favorite of mine and I loved his album Chariot. I'm so glad he has another album coming out soon. :D I think it's May 6th but I'm not sure. I'll check on it. To end this post, I've put up the song thanks to imeem.

enjoy! :D

"Honey"

This video is for The Hush Sound's song "Honey". I love the concept and I love the sound so naturally, I put it up for more people to see it and get a chance to see it. Enjoy! :D

By the way, Their other song "Medicine Man" is in a House commercial (also one of my favorite shows) so yeah...that's it for now.

And here's another one from their first album called "Crawling Towards The Sun".

4.02.2008

Well it's...

9:55 and Kristy Lee is safe for another week. I mean I guess somewhere in my head, I knew that Ramiele's performance was less than stellar and would more than likely go home. But still...well, all I can say is that there is always next week.

Until I can find something else that would interest people,
Little Miss Mary Sunshine

KRISTY LEE IN THE BOTTOM THREE

yes, ladies and Gentleman Kristy lee is in the bottom three. And what I think is kinda sad is that she is a person who is a country kind of singer. But it's now 9:33 and they just named two of the bottom three so I guess we'll see who goes home. So I'll report back later to write my reaction.

3.30.2008

so yeah...

Check this out! It's Enrique Iglesias' music video for his song in Step Up 2 called "Push".

Now after watching this, you can't tell me that this doesn't top Enrique Iglesias'...unique music videos.

Sorry, delirium talking. I've been up since 8 this morning, so yeah....
Later

3.28.2008

Here's who I think...

will win...Well at least who I hope wins. In my opinion he kicks major butt!
This week's performance was awesome!

I'm sorry for the seemingly excessive American Idol posting. It won't last long, I'll tell you that. I go through obsessive phases that eventually die down. I mean, I think the worst one had to have been my boy band phase. But whose isn't, right?

Well I'm rambling now, so...until next post!

3.11.2008

I'm sorry I need to vent...

Hello,

I'm sorry but I need to vent ... (This will all be from a very and I mean VERY biased point of view)

I truly think that there is something really wrong with people who do the voting on American Idol. I think it’s ridiculous that Chikeze got sent home when clearly, there is another person that simply doesn’t have the talent to be there. I mean I understand that there are certain problems with his last performance being a little cheesy or whatever, but come on! We all know who should have gone home. I just think that it’s not all about talent because if it was, he would have stayed. I’ve always had little faith in the effectiveness and efficiency of the whole “vote for someone who YOU think has talent” system. Because, truth is, that even though the majority of those people DO have talent, there are still people there because they have the look of an “American Idol” and I guess he just didn’t have the look that it didn’t attract enough votes.

By the way, I wrote this when I was fuming so some of these arguments don’t make much sense but when you really think about it, it is true.

This concludes one of the various rants that will most likely be up on here. :D

3.09.2008

well, okay my first post was very random. I just didn't like the usual introduction on blogs. So, I just went in and dived into the stuff I like. And it turns out, that yes, I am going to the Honda Civic Tour! YAY FOR ME! This is, I feel, the place for me to talk about the music I like. So, that's what I'll be talking about. :D
I'll put the albums I'm waiting anxiously for. Songs I'm obsessed with at the moment and on occasion, my rants about...well, anything.
This is just giving everyone a heads up. :D
Thanks for reading,
~Me~

First Post!

Yes! This year they're on the Honda Civic Tour and I might be going! Yay!
