Friday night, the 2008 Olympics opened with a wonderfully amazing spectacle that ended with someone repelling off the walls of the stadium and lighting of that gigantic torch.
I wasn't really into the excitement of the Olympics until we swept women's saber or fencing. That's when I went into full blown Olympics mode. I think I've seen more olympic events in the past three days than I have seen in my entire life. I mean, I even watched a little of handball. HANDBALL! I didn't even know it was an actual Olympic sport until today.
The one event though, that made me almost as nervous/anxious and obnoxious [as my family would say. I have a tendency to get a little loud.=)] when I was watching it was the 4x100 meter freestyle relay. It was so close by the time Jason Lezak was on his last 50 meters, that I was holding my breath when both the US and France seemingly touched the wall. That was just an amazing win!
Even as I'm writing this, I'm watching mens field hockey, Great Britain v. Pakistan.
I'm sure I'll be writing more about the Olympics...maybe.
